2024 Outstanding Administrative Leadership Award

Adrian Amandi from California School for the Blind (CSB) receives the 2024 Council of Schools and Services for the Blind (COSB) Outstanding Administrative Leadership Award.

The California School for the Blind (CSB) is proud to announce that Adrian Amandi, Director of the California Education Resource Center and Statewide Outreach Services, has been honored with the 2024 Outstanding Administrative Leadership Award by the Council of Schools and Services for the Blind (COSB).

The award recognizes leaders who demonstrate exceptional contributions to improving services for blind and low-vision students, engage in innovative program development, and serve as positive, student-centered role models for peers, staff, families, and students. Adrian exemplifies all of these qualities through his ongoing work to improve educational outcomes for blind and low-vision students across California and beyond.

CSB Superintendent Gina Ouellette shared her appreciation for Adrian's leadership:

"Adrian was nominated for this award in recognition of his outstanding work in supporting and providing a wide range of Outreach services across the state of California. The winner of this award demonstrates leadership in state or national organizations; contributes to initiatives that improve services for blind students; and develops, implements, and shares innovative programs and services. I am grateful for Adrian's ongoing work in fulfilling CSB's mission of improving the educational outcomes of all blind and low-vision students."

Adrian received letters of support from staff he supervises, as well as families he has positively impacted throughout his career.

Adrian accepted the award during the COSB Leadership Institute in Louisville, Kentucky on October 1st, 2024. His recognition reflects his dedication, creativity, and innovative contributions to the field of blindness education.
