Goals

- Reflect on the meaning of White Cane Day as adults with lived experience.
- Encourage advocacy, pride, and independence.
- Create a meaningful group presentation (story circle, panel, skit, or performance).
Materials
- Student white canes.
- Large chart paper/board with markers (braille/large print access).
- Chairs and props for skits or panel setup.
- Optional: microphone or handheld recorder (for practice).

It also reminds the public to respect people with canes and give them the right to travel safely. White Cane Day started in 1964, when the U.S. president made it official. Today, it is celebrated around the world."

- Panel/Talk Show: Students take turns answering questions about their cane use and independence.
