Transition Department

The Transition Program prepares students for a productive and fulfilling life beyond school using the Expanded Core Curriculum as the foundation. Students develop self-advocacy and decision-making skills, and are instructed in daily living skills to promote independence.

Students' instructors are a highly skilled and experienced team of VI professionals. Core areas of instruction include:

• Life Skills
• Orientation and Mobility
• Recreation and Leisure
• Vocation and Career Training

Students are equipped with the skills necessary to strive toward personal goals of independence and self-fulfillment. Students are provided daily opportunities to use these skills to generalize them in life beyond school.
